What is a voicemail broadcast?

There is really no such thing as a voicemail broadcast. It seems impossible, since it involves having to dial different phone numbers and then waiting to see if you will indeed be routed to voicemail. As a concept, however, it has potential to create traction for your business. How? Here are the steps.
· Create a list of prospects. Track the phone number and contact details of people who called to inquire about your products and services. Compile them in a list of leads that you can turn into customers.

· Create your voicemail message. It is up to you to either create a single message for all your contacts, or make it personalized. Whatever approach you choose, make sure that you know their name and you mention it as you record your message. This gives them an impression that you paid attention to their inquiry and that you care enough to follow up on them.

· Call them one by one. This is the part where it gets old school. You have to dial your contacts’ numbers one by one, and wait for the voicemail tone before you speak. If they pick up, then that’s much better!

· Accommodate them. Expect return calls and be enthusiastic about them. Responses to voicemail messages should encourage you and not tire you out. If you send out 10 voicemail messages and you earn one customer out of them, that’s not a bad thing, especially if your product or service costs a lot.

Do you really need it? Voicemail broadcasting costs time and money. Although you can always have savings by going for a virtual phone system, time is a commodity you never get back. For phone service retailers, this strategy might not be as effective as flyers, joining the weekend market or advertising in the Internet. But if your customers need a little convincing and warming up, then your attention to your prospects through voicemail broadcast will definitely pay off.
