You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a new look for your home. There are many things you can do to make a room look like new without buying all new furnishings. One of the easiest ways to spruce up a room that doesn’t cost any money is by rearranging. You can move the furniture around along with pictures and artwork to give the room a whole new look. This works especially well in the living room where you generally have more space to work with. Even in small rooms, you can move a piece or two of furniture to make it look different.Using your furniture in a different way can also change the look of a room. Put two end tables together and place them behind the couch with photos and a lamp on them to create a new centerpiece. It can replace the traditional coffee table in front of the couch. You can make your own artwork if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on pictures but want something unique. Glue a piece of fabric onto a board and put it in a frame. You can also use your camera to create your own artwork. Take pictures of anything, your kids, a flower, a tree, whatever interests you. Then, crop the picture, looking for unique angles or areas of the picture. Enlarge it and matte it in a frame and you will have a one-of-a-kind piece or artwork. You can also give your artwork a 3D effect by placing objects on the wall. You can pick any everyday items and fit them together in a group. For the kitchen, use utensils such as wooden spoons, forks and spatulas placed together in an arrangement. Painting is one of the cheapest ways to change the look of your room but if you want to do a little more with your walls, try a new technique on one wall. You can learn sponging or other techniques online. While doing the whole room would be time-consuming and a bit overwhelming if you’re just learning, using the technique on one wall to make it a focal point would be much easier. There are numerous ways to update a room in your home without spending much money. The first step is to take a look at what you already have and find a new way to use it. Get ideas from magazines or home shows on the television or internet and see how you can achieve that look for less. You just might find your inner home designer.
