Building An Awesome Bathroom
Of all the spaces in your home, bathrooms and kitchens seem to be the ones that get the most use. It’s pretty common knowledge, that if your looking at increasing the value of your home, then these are the two areas to start with. If your just getting started with your first home design project, I’d suggest starting with the bathroom design. It’s typically a much smaller space, with less complexity, and as a result it’s usually a less expensive project. Plus, being a smaller space, it means you’ll be able to have it done quicker. Getting that first renovation done is important, since it can really build your confidence for tackling the bigger projects.
Bathrooms are kind of interesting to redesign, because you can really let your imagination go a bit wild. Years past this wasn’t the case, but building a classy dream bathroom is actually a lot of fun. Just take a look at the one in the picture here. The first thing your probably going to notice, is that there is no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. This may seem a little odd at first, but it’s not without some advantages.
There’s no need to step over the side of a tub to get into the shower. For older folks, this can be a major benefit. Plus, if you don’t need a bathtub then you could save a few dollars on the installation. It may look like the the rest of the bathroom floor would get wet, but it shouldn’t as long as the drains are situated correctly. I like the design. Not just from a usability perspective, but from the fact that it’s a little different.
